I was just wondering because I have tried my VLK for both server 2003 r2 64 bit, server 2003 r2 32bit & server 2003 64bit (just to make sure) many times and i keep receiving your CD key is incorrect, so does anyone know if this is in fact a retail or VLK version, and if they are the retail (boxed) version, does anybody know where to download. How to change your Volume License (VL) key with Windows Server 2003 or R2 By clustering Recently I wanted to install R2 on a Volume License copy of Windows Server 2003. Windows Server 2003 Activation Key is the genuine license for Windows Server 2003 product. The products will be registered online in the offical website and receive offical updates & service support.
I have installed Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition (x86) onto a machine and activated it using the wrong product key. Is there a procedure to reenter and reactivate Windows with the correct key that does not involve reinstalling the OS?

You can use Magical Jelly Bean Key Finder

Check out this article, its for XP, but should work all the same. You need to basically deactivate your copy, then instead of re-activating, change the key. Make sure its the same type of install media that the new key comes from. (Retail, OEM, VL)
